Berlin-based workflow automation startup Camunda has raised its first funding round of €25 million from Highland Europe. The company plans to use the capital injection for international expansion across the US, Europe, and Asia.

Camunda claims that its integrated platform for software developers and business stakeholders covers all phases of workflow automation from process design and execution, to continuous process improvement. It features a toolkit for modelling, executing, monitoring, and troubleshooting business processes. The platform is built on top of the open-source Workflow Engine.

The startup claims to have been profitable since founding and lists companies like 24 Hour Fitness, Goldman Sachs, Lufthansa Technik, and Zalando among its clients. It’s headquartered in Berlin, with additional offices in San Francisco and Denver.
